AELG Online October 4 - November 22 (18 training hours) Alabama Early Learning Guidelines (AELG) is a free professional development opportunity for early childhood educators. Upon completion of this course, participants will gain an understanding of child development and acquire tools for implementing best practices in order to prepare children for success in school and in life.
STEM for the Preschool Classroom October 11 - November 22 When it comes to giving children a solid foundation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), it’s never too soon to start. Statistics have shown that the presence of STEM activities in the preschool classroom encourages exploration, discovery, and problem-solving. In this free online course, participants will deepen their own knowledge of the importance of STEM, discover what successful STEM-centered teaching practices look like, and learn how to boost students’ STEM skills with concrete examples and activities for the preschool setting. (15 training hours)
Sesame Street in Communities: Training, Resources, and Support for Early Childhood Educators October 11 - November 22 (15 training hours) Throughout this facilitated, 6-week course, participants will become familiar with Sesame Street in Communities content and learn how to use multimedia tools from Sesame Street in Communities to enrich the critical work of providing high quality early child care. This training will cover social and emotional development, health and safety procedures, developmentally appropriate practices, and early math and literacy skills.
