Traveling the world to find beauty in the world of cosmetology!!--

Project Summary:

This summer we were privileged to travel to Florida, Nevada, California, Missouri and Alabama where we attended beauty trade shows. As educators it is our responsibility to teach students the newest and latest techniques in the beauty industry. This opportunity allowed us to attend trade shows that offered classes and the chance to see trends and newness from all segments of the beauty industry. We were able to see the global perspective on emerging trends and enhance skills so that we can meet the needs of teaching skills for today’ styles. We started our travels in Orlando, Florida where we stated at the Rosen Hotel and attended the Premiere Orlando Trade Show. This is one of the largest hair shows in the world. This unique event brought together the best professionals specializing in hair, nails, spa, esthetics, and more. It provided the tools, techniques training and quality education essentials to succeed in this fast pace industry.
Once we left Florida it was back to “Sweet Home Alabama” for Summer Conference. The ACTE Summer Conference offers professional development for CTE teachers, opportunities to network and share with colleagues from across the state, and resources not available at any other time. The conference creates the enthusiasm needed to begin a new year filled with ideas and the desire to make a difference in the lives of students we teach. The latest information in Career/Tech curriculum, legislation, and teaching techniques are always available at this conference.
Our next adventure carries us to Los Angeles, California. Here we will attend the International Make-up Artist Trade Show. This show is the make-up world’s biggest gathering. This show is the make-up world’s biggest gathering. Here thousands of make-up artists, vendors and educators will discuss, display and collect the best the industry has to offer.
After leaving California we will fly to Missouri where we will attend the National SkillsUSA Conference. Attending this event energizes and creates enthusiasm with an abundance of innovative ideas, and leadership skills to promote participation in CTSO’s. This is needed to increase the participation of students.
Our last adventure carries us to Las Vegas, Nevada where we will attend the PBA Symposium and the Cosmoprof of North America. PBA Symposium inspires and educates educators and beauty professionals to take their careers to the next level.
